Awarded every two years, the “UBS Young Artist Award” supports highly talented musicians. Alongside the prize money, winners are given the opportunity to perform at the Summer Festival.

Want to get a taste of the Festival? Everyone is welcome to the new open-air kickoff and our popular 40min concerts — with free admission. In this way, Zurich Insurance would like to make classical music accessible to a broader audience.

The Corona pandemic has hit the cultural sector hard. For this reason, and with the backing from our main sponsors, we initiated the #SolidarityForMusic digital campaign in summer 2020 to raise awareness and help freelance musicians in Switzerland. Together we were able to raise over CHF 275,000 for musicians in need.

Every two years since 2003, Roche has awarded commissions to outstanding contemporary composers, and since 2013, alternately to two young composers each. The new scores created within the framework of the Roche Commissions and the Roche Young Commissions are given their premieres at the Summer Festival by the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra.

For the launch of an exclusive watch, our partner Carl F. Bucherer came up with a special idea: in cooperation with Lucerne Festival, a new orchestral piece was to be created as a musical counterpoint to the new timepiece.
