Victor Hanna instead of Martin Grubinger

Martin Grubinger has unfortunately had to cancel his appearance at the LUCERNE FESTIVAL concert on 27 August for personal reasons. We are pleased that we were able to engage Victor Hanna on short notice to be the soloist for the world premiere of Olga Neuwirth's Percussion Concerto, which is titled "Trurliade – Zone Zero."

Memorial Concert: Aurèle Nicolet

Sat, 27.08.

The flutist Aurèle Nicolet died on 22 January at the age of 90. He was closely associated with the Festival through his numerous performances as a soloist and a longterm member of the Swiss Festival Orchestra. On 27 August we will honor this great artist with a special concert including new works composed in his memory by Heinz Holliger and Jürg Wyttenbach.
