For personal reasons, soprano Miah Persson has had to cancel her appearance at the concert on 22 August with the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra (LFCO) and conductor Baldur Brönnimann. We very much regret this, but are pleased to announce that soprano Ilse Eerens has agreed at short notice to take over the solo part in Mark Andre’s world premiere Im Entsiegeln 1 for soprano and orchestra.
Ilse Eerens is a Belgian soprano known for her «heavenly radiant» voice as well as her brilliance and elegant phrasing. She appears regularly at houses such as the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Salzburg Festival, Zurich Opera House, and La Monnaie, and works with conductors including Riccardo Muti, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and Ton Koopman. She has also coordinated the vocal department at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels since 2024.
The concert programme remains unchanged and is as follows:
Onstage introduction with musical examples:
Mark Andre und Baldur Brönnimann in conversation with Mark Sattler (in German)
Mark Andre (*1964)
Im Entschwinden for orchestra
Im Entfalten (Dem Andenken an Pierre Boulez) for orchestra
Im Entsiegeln 1 for soprano and orchestra
world premiere
commissioned by Lucerne Festival and the Philharmonie Essen’s NOW! festival
The tickets remain valid.
