Born in Leonberg in 1981 and raised in Calw, Sophia Brommer studied voice with Gabriele Kaiser at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich and the Bavarian Theater Academy August Everding. From 2007 to 2013, she was an ensemble member at Theater Augsburg. Guest engagements have taken her to the Volksoper Wien, the Aalto Theater in Essen, the Royal Opera House in Copenhagen, the State Theaters in Wiesbaden, Augsburg, and Saarbrücken, and the Theater St. Gallen. Alongside Mozart roles such as Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Konstanze (Abduction), and Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), she is also devoted to the Italian repertoire, with roles including Puccini’s Mimì (La Bohème), Liù (Turandot), and Magda (La rondine) or Violetta in Verdi’s La traviata. On the concert stage, Brommer has collaborated with conductors including Herbert Blomstedt, Pietari Inkinen, Jonathan Nott, Tarmo Peltokoski, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, and Ulf Schirmer.
