The Russian soprano Nadezhda Pavlova graduated from the Glazunov State Conservatory in Petrozavodsk, Karelia, in 2006 and appeared in her first engagement at the opera house there. She has been a member of the Perm Opera ensemble since 2012. Her repertoire includes such roles as Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, Verdi’s Violetta Valéry (La traviata), Musetta in Puccini’s La Bohème, Olympia in Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Zerbinetta in Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos, and Louisa in Prokofiev’s Betrothal in a Monastery. Together with Teodor Currentzis and musicAeterna, she has appeared at the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, the Cologne Philharmonie, the Konzerthaus Dortmund, and the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg. She has also performed at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow, where she appeared as Cunegonde in a new production of Bernstein’s Candide in the 2018-19 season, and she has sung at the Latvian National Opera. She was awarded the Golden Mask in 2017.
