The cellist Iseut Chuat first studied at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique in Paris; she then took Aldo Parisot’s class at Yale University and completed her training with János Starker at Indiana University. She has been principal cellist with the Dutch National Ballet Orchestra and the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, and has taught as professor at Indiana University, the New England Conservatory, Boston University, and the Longy School of Music. As a soloist, Chuat has performed with the Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver Symphony Orchestras, as well as with numerous U.S. and French orchestras. Her chamber music partners include Paul Lewis, György Sebök, Bruno Canino, Guy Braunstein, Antje Weithaas,
Ivry Gitlis, Ilya Gringolts, and Karl Leister. Bernhard Heiden dedicated his Cello Concerto to her, as did Paul Desenne his suite for solo cello, Jaguar Songs.
