Young Friends of Lucerne Festival

Are you interested in music? Would you like to delve deeper into the world of classical music and share your impressions with others? Then join up with the Young Friends!  

You can attend concerts together and take part in spontaneous discussions about music and other interests before or after the concerts over an aperitif. In addition, as part of the Young Friends you benefit from special conditions for concert visits and are part of the Lucerne Festival community of friends.

You can be a part of the Young Friends up to the age of 35 years. With an annual membership fee of CHF 200, you can benefit from discounts on selected concert tickets. As part of the large Friends community, you will also be invited to various events organized by the Friends of Lucerne Festival: rehearsal visits, discussions with artists and music experts, exclusive previews and the Friends' Patrons' event.

This year, we are delighted to invite the Young Friends on a special excursion to the Lucerne Rowing Centre. Timon Wernas, Managing Director of Lucerne Regatta, will introduce to the fascinating world of rowing and show that, alongside Lucerne’s world-class music festival, the city is also home to a world-class sport event. The international rowing elite regularly gathers at the Rotsee, and in 2027 the venue will even host the World Rowing Championships.

As a special highlight, Jack Adler-McKean, Coaching Programme Coordinator of the Lucerne Festival Academy, will present a short tuba performance in the unique atmosphere of the boathouses.

Program

5:00–5:45 p.m. Visit to the Lucerne Rowing Centre, including a guided tour and musical performance
5:55–6:55 p.m. Dinner together at Restaurant Libelle
7:00 p.m. Return journey to the KKL Lucerne on Bus 
7:30 p.m. Concert begins
Approx. 9:20 p.m. Concert ends
