Vyacheslav Voynarovsky, a graduate of the Russian Academy of Theater Arts, began his career in 1971 at the Stanislavsky Music Theater in Moscow, where he gained expertise in the character tenor repertoire: his spectrum encompasses Mozart to Stravinsky and music drama to operetta. He has been a member of the Bolshoi Theater Ensemble since 1997, but guest appearances throughout Europe also play an important part in his performance schedule. Voynarovsky has performed at the Royal Opera House in London, the Glyndebourne Festival, the Paris National Opera, La Scala in Milan, the Teatro Real in Madrid, and the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, partnering with such conductors as Semyon Bychkov and Vladimir Jurowski. Since the 1970s, Vyacheslav Voynarovsky has moreover been a successful actor, specializing in comic roles for quite a few films and television series.
