Ronald Spiess, who received his education at the Ernst Busch School for Actors, has been engaged by various theaters in Berlin, Krefeld, Frankfurt am Main, Baden Baden, and Heidelberg, undertaking such roles as Shakespeare’s Romeo and Hamlet, Ferdinand in Schiller’s Kabale und Liebe, and Haimon in Antigone. In 2008 war he was the title hero in the world premiere of Felix Mitterer’s Francis of Assisi. Along with his work in the theater, Spiess is regularly involved in television productions, including several appearances on the crime series Tatort. He has also taken part in numerous radio plays and book readings for, among others, Southwest Radio and DeutschlandRadio. Ronald Spiess often works in the dubbing studio, as a director as well as a speaker. He recently performed the role of Samiel in Der Freischütz on stage, in Robert Wilson’s new production, which was seen at the Baden Baden Whitsun Festival in 2009.
