Pianist Oliver Triendl was born in Mallersdorf, Lower Bavaria, in 1970 and studied with Gerhard Oppitz and Oleg Maisenberg, among others. He made a name for himself early in his career as a prizewinner at national and international competitions. Triendl has appeared at festivals and in major musical centers throughout Europe, North and South America, South Africa, and Asia, and has worked with orchestras including the Bamberg Symphony, the NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover, the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne, and the Munich Philharmonic. A tireless champion of neglected composers, particularly from the Romantic era and the present day, Triendl has made more than 150 recordings. His repertoire encompasses over 100 piano concertos and hundreds of chamber music works, many of which he has premiered or recorded for the first time. In 2025, he received the ICMA Special Achievement Award and an Opus Klassik Award.
