Vita

The NDR Vocal Ensemble, which emerged from the NDR Choir founded in 1946, performs works from the Renaissance to the modern era. Its musical range is reflected in its subscription series, which was founded in 2009: the spectrum ranges from a cappella concerts to musical settings of the Mass and choral symphonies. Since the 2018-19 season, Klaas Stok from the Netherlands has been the Chief Conductor of the ensemble, which works not only with the NDR orchestras but also with leading formations of early and contemporary music and international symphony orchestras. Conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Paul Hillier, Mariss Jansons, Paavo Järvi, Andris Nelsons, and Sir Roger Norrington have worked with the ensemble. The NDR Vocal Ensemble has made guest appearances at the Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festivals, the Göttingen Handel Festival, Anima Mundi in Pisa, and the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris.
