Michel Tabachnik, born in 1942, studied in his hometown Geneva and early in his career he was promoted by Herbert von Karajan and Pierre Boulez. Amongst others, he was Principal Conductor at the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Lorraine and regularly gave guest performances at the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the NHK Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestre de Paris. In the 2008/09 season Michel Tabachnik began his tenure as Principal Conductor as well as Artistic Director of the Brussels Philharmonic.
