The baritone Lester Lynch is a graduate of New York’s Juilliard School opera program and emerged as a prize winner from the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and the George London Vocal Competition. He  appears in the world’s leading opera houses: San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Dresden Semperoper, the Royal Opera House in London, and La Scala in Milan, as well as at the Bregenz Festival. He joined with Sir Simon Rattle and the Berlin Philharmonic to perform Puccini’s Manon Lescaut at the Baden-Baden Easter Festival and also sang in Porgy and Bess and Schoenberg's Gurre-Lieder with them. Lynch’s repertoire includes Italian roles such as Verdi’s Macbeth, Rigoletto, Iago, and Falstaff, as well as German operas: he made his role debut as Wotan in Wagner’s Das Rheingold in May 2022. He also performed Scarpia in Puccini’s Tosca in the spring with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin.
