The Russian tenor Danis Khuzin was born in Perm in 1975. After attending the Perm Conservatory, he studied at the Perm State Institute of Art and Culture in the class led by Irina Kotelnikova, obtaining his degree in 2012. While Khuzin was still a student, he became a member of the Perm State Opera Chorus. He subsequently joined the musicAeterna Choir, and since 2012 he has also performed as a soloist. In Perm, Khuzin has taken part in numerous productions under the baton of Teodor Currentzis, performing such roles as Fetyukov in Alexander Tchaikovsky’s A Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, Don Curzio in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Yelisey Bomelius in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tsar’s Bride, Beppe in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, Gastone in Verdi’s La traviata, and Spalanzani in Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann, as well as such Tchaikovsky roles as Triquet in Eugene Onegin and Alméric in Iolanta.
