Born in 1979, the violinist Daniel Röhn comes from a family of musicians: his grandfather Erich Röhn was concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic, and his father Andreas Röhn held the same position with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. Daniel Röhn, who studied with Ana Chumachenco in Munich and was sponsored by the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation, is active worldwide as a soloist and chamber musician. He has performed with the London Philharmonic, the Swedish and Norwegian Chamber Orchestras, and Sinfonia Rotterdam and has appeared as a soloist under such conductors as Riccardo Muti, Gustavo Dudamel, Hannu Lintu, and Ion Marin; he has also collaborated in chamber concerts with Julia Fischer, Lisa Batiashvili, Vilde Frang, and Augustin Hadelich; Nils Mönkemeyer and Antoine Tamestit; Gautier Capuçon; Bertrand Chamayou; and Jörg Widmann. Röhn’s albums include The Kreisler Story and The Golden Violin (Music of the 20s).
