Vita

The Collegium Vocale zu Franziskanern Luzern was founded in 2005 as a project choir for a performance workshop led by Ton Koopman. It consists of singers from all around Switzerland, most of whom are currently or have been students at the country’s various music academies. Under the artistic direction of Ulrike Grosch, the ensemble has since then developed a wide repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to modern music, which they perform in carefully designed programs featuring unconventional dramaturgy. In 2011 the Collegium Vocale zu Franziskanern performed at the International Chorbiennale in Aachen; in the coming year they will appear with the Norwegian group Grex Vocalis in the KKL Lucerne. The Collegium Vocale has also given joint concerts with molto cantabile, such as the a cappella program Zwischenwelten – Zwischen Welten in 2010, which included works by composers from Strauss to Schoenberg, also in the KKL.
