The tenor Cameo Humes completed his vocal training at Stetson University and received his Master’s Degree from the University of Florida. His repertoire includes such Mozart roles as Titus from La clemenza di Tito and Don Ottavio from Don Giovanni, as well as bel canto roles including Count Almaviva from Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia. He has appeared at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Houston Grand Opera, and Cincinnati Opera, as well as La Scala in Milan. Humes devotes much of his time to concert singing and has been heard in Handel’s Judas Maccabaeus, Bach’s St. John Passion, Haydn’s Nelson Mass, and Mozart’s Requiem. In the process, he has collaborated with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hilton Head Choral Society, and the Gainesville Civic Chorus. Passionate about performing spirituals, he has toured Spain, France, and Ireland with the American Spiritual Ensemble.
