Portuguese soprano Ana Vieira Leite was initially trained at the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espétaculo in Porto and completed her studies at the Haute École de Musique in Geneva. She won the Concours International de Chant Baroque de Froville in 2020 and the Concurso da Fundação Rotária Portuguesa in 2021. A specialist in early music, she has appeared in works by André Campra, Claudio Monteverdi, and Jean-Philippe Rameau and has sung Hildegard von Bingen’s Ordo Virtutum. She made her debut at the Grand Théâtre de Genève in Philip Glass’s Einstein on the Beach in 2019 and subsequently appeared there as Clorinda in a production of Rossini’s La cenerentola for children. Her concert repertoire also includes works such as Mahler’s Fourth Symphony and the Rückert Lieder. Ana Vieira Leite is a founding member of the ensemble O Bando de Surunyo, with which she specializes in 16th- and 17th-century music.
