Gianfranco Lot

Gianfranco Lot is Chief Underwriting Officer and member of the Executive Committee P&C Reinsurance. He is responsible for the Underwriting and Portfolio Management across markets and lines of business globally. Gianfranco is also the Country President Switzerland. In this role he represents Swiss Re's interests in Switzerland across all Business Units. Prior to these roles, Gianfranco led the Globals Division managing Swiss Re's business with the largest insurance clients globally.

He began his career in 1987 at Alpina Insurance as an apprentice and assumed increasing responsibilities in sales and underwriting positions until 1995 when he joined Swiss Re as a Casualty Underwriter for Division Asia. In 1999 he joined Swiss Re New Markets focusing on Alternative Risk Transfer for Corporate clients. Gianfranco left briefly in 2002 and joined a medium sized reinsurer in various managerial roles before re-joining Swiss Re in 2006 in the Structured Reinsurance unit, which he led globally out of Armonk, New York.

Gianfranco holds an MBA from Bocconi University and attended AMP at Harvard.
