Let's talk about music!

With his Third Symphony, the Eroica, Ludwig van Beethoven radically redefined the symphonic genre. All sorts of legends surround the creation of this work, which celebrates the ideals of the French Revolution and was originally intended to be dedicated to Napoleon Bonaparte.

In 2026, Lucerne Festival once again collaborated with the CAS “Musik vermitteln” of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts HSLU. As part of a practical exercise on “concert introductions,” the students created a podcast designed to whet listeners’ appetite for Beethoven’s Eroica.
