Happy Birthday, Wolfgang Rihm!

Wolfgang Rihm, Artistic Director of the Lucerne Festival Academy, is celebrating his 70th birthday today.

Lucerne Festival has received over 50 congratulatory messages from fellow artists and companions who have worked with Wolfgang Rihm since 2016 (when he was appointed director of the Lucerne Festival Academy). These contributions will be presented to Wolfgang Rihm in a bound book of over 100 pages as an exclusive personal birthday gift from Lucerne Festival. Among them are many personal letters and artistic gifts, some of which (by Thomas Kessler, Enno Poppe, Olga Neuwirth, Péter Eötvös, Rebecca Saunders, and George Benjamin) we would like to share with our audience here.
