Michael, Renate, Toril, and Hanna attended the Family Concert “Krach mit Bach” (“Make a Noise with Bach”) at Lucerne Hall in the KKL and now join together as a reporting team to talk about their Festival experience.
After rehearsals, the latter must cancel because of a family tragedy but returns to Lucerne in 1949 and 1950. Toscanini’s performance of the Verdi Requiem in the Jesuitenkirche is regarded as the highpoint of this second summer.
