The mezzo-soprano Rosa Bove studied with Carlo Tuand at the conservatory of her native Salerno and later with Virginio Profeta. Following initial engagements in Naples, Lecce, and Foggia, she made her debut in 2008 as Giannina in Spontini’s Li puntigli delle donne at the Festival Pergolesi Spontini in Iesi. Since then, she has also performed at the Schwetzingen Festival, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, and Garsington Opera. At the Salzburg Festival, she has appeared alongside Cecilia Bartoli in Gluck’s Iphigénie en Tauride and Rossini’s L’italiana in Algeri. Rosa Bove’s repertoire ranges from Baroque opera to 20th-century sacred music. She has worked with conductors such as Fabio Biondi, Laurence Cummings, Diego Fasolis, Christopher Hogwood, and Antonello Manacorda. She also sings on Claudio Abbado’s recording of Pergolesi’s Confitebor tibi Domine.
