The baritone Renato Dolcini, who was born in 1985, is a native of Milan. He initially graduated magna cum laude with a degree in musicology from the University of Pavia, later continuing his vocal training under Vincenzo Manno and studying at the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala. In the 2009-10 season he was admitted to the Gstaad Vocal Academy, where he took courses with Cecilia Bartoli; since 2010 he has concentrated on the Baroque repertoire with Roberta Invernizzi. Among Dolcini’s credits are Gustav Holst’s Savitri at the Teatro Dal Verme in Milan, Conte Robinson in Cimarosa’s Il matrimonio segreto in Mantua, and Don Alfonso in Mozart’s Così fan tutte at the Opera de Tenerife. His concert repertoire includes such works as Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, Fauré’s Requiem, and cantatas by Vivaldi and Handel. In 2014 he appeared on a recording of Stradella’s oratorio San Giovanni Crisostomo with the Harmonices Mundi ensemble under Claudio Astronio.
