He is a winner of the Walther Grüner Lieder Competition and also garnered the English Song Award and the Peter Pears Award. Harvey has closely collaborated with John Eliot Gardiner with many years, including as soloist in the Bach Cantata Pilgrimage undertaken in 2000. Harvey, who is fluent in French, is in addition a sought-after performer of the French repertoire, as in his concerts with Philippe Herreweghe, Christophe Rousset, and Hervé Niquet. As the founder of the Magdalena Consort he is also an active conductor and has led guest performances in Germany and Spain as well as at the Cheltenham Festival.
