Vita

The NDR Vokalensemble emerged from the NDR Choir, which was founded in 1946. It performs music from the Renaissance to the modern era, from a cappella concerts to choral symphonies: an artistic range that is reflected in the subscription series founded in 2009. Since the 2018-19 season, the Dutch conductor Klaas Stok has helmed the ensemble, working not only with the orchestras of the NDR but also with leading early and new music ensembles and international symphony orchestras. Such conductors as Daniel Barenboim, Paul Hillier, Mariss Jansons, Paavo Järvi, Andris Nelsons, and Sir Roger Norrington have appeared on the podium. The NDR Vokalensemble has made guest appearances at the Schleswig-
Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festivals, the Göttingen Handel Festival, Anima Mundi in Pisa, and the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris.
