Vita

Born in 1985 in Kavala, Greece, the violinist Iason Keramidis studied with Stelios Kafantaris in Athens, with Ingolf Turban in Stuttgart, and with Ulf Hoelscher in Karlsruhe, completing his studies in the chamber music class of Michael Uhde in 2013. Keramidis has won such awards as first prize at both the Panhellenic Competition in Athens and the ART Competition in Thessaloniki and also at the International Music Days in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse. He joined the first violin section of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra in 2013 and became Associate Concertmaster in 2018. Concerts have taken him across Europe and the United States, as well as to China and Brazil. Keramidis has performed as a soloist with the Sofia Symphony Orchestra, the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra, the Athens State Symphony Orchestra, the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc, and the German State Philharmonic Orchestra.
