Vita

Born in Munich in 1982, the violinist Korbini-
an Altenberger studied with Charles-André Linale and Donald Weilerstein in Cologne and Boston. He received a post-graduate degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 2009. Altenberger is a prize winner of the ARD Music Competition, the Michael Hill Violin Competition, the Concours Tibor Varga, and the Montreal International Music Competition. He made his debut at the Salzburg Festival at the age of 12 and has performed regularly as a soloist and chamber musician since then. He has appeared with the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire, the Auckland Philharmonia, the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the SWR Symphony Orchestra, and the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra, among others, and has been a guest at the Ravinia, Marlboro, Verbier, and Prussia Cove festivals. Since 2011, Altenberger has been a member of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra as principal second violin.
