Ursula Jones-Strebi

Ursula Jones-Strebi was born in 1932 in Lucerne, studied languages at the Universities of Heidelberg and Geneva, and received a PhD in archeology in London. She initially worked with the Philharmonia Orchestra and the Goldsbrough Orchestra and became one of the founders of the English Chamber Orchestra in 1960, administratively directing that ensemble until 1974; thereafter she was manager of the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble for many years. Ursula Jones is President of the Maria & Walter Strebi-Erni Foundation in Lucerne.
