Krystian Adam

The Polish tenor Krystian Adam studied at the Warsaw Music Academy and at the Verdi Conservatory in Milan. In 2007 he made his debut at the world premiere of Fabio Vacchi’s Teneke at Milan’s La Scala. Guest appearances at numerous European companies and at such festivals as the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the Handel Festival in Halle are among his credits. He was engaged by Claudio Abbado for concerts with the Orchestra Mozart, by Riccardo Chailly for Puccini’s La fanciulla del West, and by Sir John Eliot Gardiner for Monteverdi’s Vespers, L’Orfeo, Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria, and Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda. Adam focuses intensively on early music with such conductors as Rinaldo Alessandrini, Giovanni Antonini, Jean-Christophe Spinosi, and Václav Luks. He has performed Don Basilio in Figaro, a role which he also recorded under Teodor Currentzis, at the Royal Opera House in London and at Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam.
