Kühne Foundation

The non-profit Kühne Foundation, headquartered in Schindellegi/Schwyz, was established by the Kühne family in 1976. It considers itself to be an operational foundation whose President is Prof. Dr. h.c. Klaus-Michael Kühne. The Foundation's primary purpose is to support education and training as well as higher education and research in the areas of transport and logistics. The Kühne Foundation provides support to the Kühne Logistics University in Hamburg, to logistics chairs at renowned universities, to a research project "Global Trade," and is committed to humanitarian logistics. It additionally supports the Medicine Campus Davos which is a major funding project. Research activities in the field of allergology are conducted at the site of the Hochgebirgsklinik Davos, and, in future, will also include the field of cardiology. The Kühne Foundation also operates the clinic, which focuses –  amongst others – on therapy and rehabilitation for those suffering from allergies and heart disease. In the cultural field, the Kühne Foundation provides support to festivals, opera houses, and concert halls in various European countries.
