LUCERNE FESTIVAL envisions itself as an internationally leading festival of classical music. We are committed to the highest degree of artistic quality and are committed to inspiring our domestic and foreign audiences alike, engaging listeners from the young to the elderly. We make fascinating cross-connections between tradition and innovation and champion young musicians and the music of our time while at the same time safeguarding artistic and financial independence.

What We Stand For: Our Mission

Living for Art and for Artists

We are an international music festival that is based on artistic ideals. Art is our love and our passion, and music is the focus of what we do. Our goal is to offer artists an optimal platform for their creative work and activities.

Our Audience

Open and creative dialogue with our audience at home and abroad is a central pillar of our work. We hope to entice our audience away from everyday routine and encourage their fascination with art in all its facets

Art as Experience

We create the possibility for emotionally resonant exchanges to occur between art, artists, and the audience. Art can trigger feelings, it can revolve around social issues, stimulate discussions, and provoke or even simply entertain and inspire. Art is the mirror of an open-minded society that tirelessly interrogage its values and ideals.

Commitment to Quality

We understand the pursuit of quality and excellence as the highest precept of our daily operation. Together with the artists who perform here we implement a program that combines the values of tradition with a great openness to contemporary creativity. In order to achieve this we also follow unconventional routes and are open to the latest developments in art.

Responsibility and Sustainability

In presenting and communicating art we are always in search of new concepts, formats, and vessels. Of great significance to us is the goal of developing and sustainably supporting young artists, as well as imparting our programs and content to the generations of audience who are coming of age along with specific commitments in the social realm.
