Martin Senn, who was born in 1957, studied banking at the Commercial College of Basel, the ISEAD in Fontainebleau, and Harvard Business School. From 1976 to 1994 he worked at the former Swiss Bank Corporation and then for Credit Suisse, where he served in executive positions as Treasurer for the home office and for Europe as well as Chairman and Turnraround Manager of Credit Suisse Gruppe Japan. In 2001 he was appointed to the Board of Management of Credit Suisse Banking and Director of Trading and Investment Services; from 2003 to 2006 he was a member of the Board of Management and Chief Investment Officer of Swiss Life Group. Martin Senn then became Chief Investment Officer and, at the same time, a member of the Management Group of Zurich Financial Services Group, where he has served as CEO since 2010.
