Daniel Dodds (violin)

Daniel Dodds (Tomasz Trzebiatowski) 

Violinist Daniel Dodds, who was born to Australian-Chinese parents, left his native Australia at the age of 17 to pursue violin studies with Gunars Larsens at the Lucerne College of Music. After completing his diplomas with distinction, he received further inspiration in master classes with Rudolf Baumgartner, Franco Gulli, and Nathan Milstein. Dodds currently serves as first concertmaster with the Festival Strings Lucerne and tours around the world with this ensemble. He is additionally a member of the Chamber Soloists Lucerne and collaborates with pianist Martin Stadtfeld as a duo partner. His repertoire ranges from Bach to contemporary composers and also includes crossover projects involving jazz, tango, and music of the Far East. Dodds, who teaches at the Lucerne College of Music, plays the Stradivarius ex Baumgartner from 1717.
