“Im Bau” (“In the Burrow”). 15 Sound Spaces after a Fragment by Franz Kafka (world premiere)
Alfred Zimmerlin (*1955)
“Ana Andromeda.” Seven Lyrical Pictures on a Text by Ingrid Fichtner (world premiere)
“Lost circles” is a music theater work on the theme of “Faith” that pairs musical settings by Michel Roth and Alfred Zimmerlin. Roth has composed 15 sonic spaces after a text by Franz Kafka. This parable revolves around a fox-like creature who constructs an increasingly complicated burrow—an allegory for the human need and desire to be safeguarded from everything. Zimmerlin work, which follows, is a monolog delivered by Ana Andromeda, who reviews her life story by proceeding backwards. This project will be staged by the director of Theater Basel, Georges Delnon, and the Ensemble æquatuor, which presented their production “Schattenrisse” at LUCERNE FESTIVAL in 2003.
A coproduction of LUCERNE FESTIVAL with the Theater Basel, the Stadttheater Chur, the Opera de Butxaca i Nova Creació Barcelona, and Ensemble æquatuor.
