Students of the LUCERNE FESTIVAL ACADEMY
Students of the Academy will present modernist solo- and chamber music works. Program to be announced in concert.
The guidelines are straightforward: a one-hour slot, a performance space with a stage, and dramaturgical and technical support. The young musicians of the LUCERNE FESTIVAL ACADEMY are invited to fill in this open framework with independent initiatives. Open Stage offers them a platform for spontaneous performances featuring compositions which they will have worked on during their solo and chamber music instruction with teachers from the Ensemble intercontemporain. The selection of each program’s works and the conditions in which Academy participants perform them will be determined only shortly before the concert: the program content is thus chosen on the spur of the moment and is then announced and commented on directly during the course of the concert. Open Stage thus gives the public the possibility of becoming better acquainted with the musicians themselves.
