Here’s another taste of LUCERNE FESTIVAL at the Piano: evening-long sessions of jazz piano, whether stormy or full of swing, fleet-fingered or introspective. As we do every year, we’ve once again chosen internationally acclaimed jazz pianists who will perform for you into the wee hours in the most attractive bars and hotel lounges throughout Lucerne — that is, “off stage,” in a relaxed atmosphere and with free admission. The ten keyboard virtuosos for Fall 2010, who hail from Switzerland, Germany, and the United States, will present a multi-faceted program ranging from boogie-woogie to blues and from stride piano to soul. And of course our “festival within the festival” will be inaugurated on the big stage in this grand opening in the KKL Luzern, in which each of the musicians will present samples of their improvisational art and be personally introduced in conversations with moderator Andreas Müller-Crepon.

Tickets can only be purchased over the phone (+41 (41) 226 44 80) or at the box office. The box office opens one hour before the concert begins, except in the case of concerts with introductory talks, when it opens half an hour before the talk.
