The Swiss composer Klaus Huber is the recipient of this year's Ernst von Siemens Music Prize. The coveted award with its EUR 200,000 endowment will be presented to him on 15 May 2009 at an official ceremony in Munich's Kammerspiele Theater. LUCERNE FESTIVAL will honor the new laureate, who will turn eighty-five in November, by giving the world première of his new string quartet on 29 August, performed by the Arditti Quartet.
